What makes Ellaword different?

You start with something you want to watch, read or listen to. Ellaword connects vocabulary practice to that source and shows an estimate of the vocabulary you already know, so your next words have a place in your world.

What does vocabulary coverage mean?

It estimates the share of word occurrences in a source that you already know. A word repeated several times counts each time it appears. Coverage can help you choose what to practice, but it does not guarantee that you’ll understand the story, grammar or spoken language.

Can I watch the shows or read the books in Ellaword?

Ellaword is a vocabulary companion, not a streaming service or an ebook library. Watch, read or listen through the original source. Ellaword helps you practice the words before you go back to it.

Can I use my own content?

Yes. Create practice sections from text you paste or from .txt and .srt files. Supported YouTube links can use available captions when video import is enabled. Upload allowances depend on your plan; not every video has an available transcript.

When can I get the app?

We’re preparing Ellaword’s iOS launch, starting with Swedish. The interactive example on this page lets you explore the idea now. App availability, pricing and plan details will be shared at launch.
